Overview:
The purpose of this course is to explore the content and context of Florida Statute §934.50, known as the “Freedom from Unwarranted Surveillance Act”. This course is available as online video training (approx __ minutes ) and can be provided for on-site presentation.
Course topics:
This course will explore what the statute says and what various people have said about it. The course will examine the context in which it was created as well as some of the implications for law enforcement and the general public with respect to the operation of small Unmanned Aircraft within the State of Florida
Course Objective:
On completion of this course the student should have a better understanding of the origins and history of the statute. The purpose of this course is to explore the content and context of FS §934.50
We will explore what the statute says and what various people have said about it. We will examine the context in which it was created and some of the implications on law enforcement and the general public with regard to the operation of Unmanned Aircraft within the State of Florida.
Please note: this is not a legal discussion and nothing in this course is to be construed as legal advice. This material relates to past Florida legislation but there may be similar attempts at restrictions in other states. For example, North Carolina has had its own “UAS Commercial Operator Permit” going back as far as 2017.
