Part 108 Moves to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs for Review

Erin Williams reports in the Commercial UAV News that the much overdue BVLOS rule was submitted to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) on July 10th for a what is described as a “90 day review process”. There are several possible outcomes. It could be approved without change (not likely). It could be modified by the OIRA. It could be withdrawn or pulled back for changes. It could be sent back if it rule, in its present form, is deeply flawed or is in conflict with presidential policy. Three out of for of these options means a further delay in the final rule.
